Grandma's Bread Puddin'

1 loaf stale French bread
4 cups milk
2 cups sugar
4 tablespoons melted butter
3 eggs
2 tablespoons vanilla
1 cup raisins
1 cup crushed pineapple
1 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg

Combine all ingredients; mixture should be very moist but not soupy. Pour into buttered 9 x 9 inch baking dish. Place into cold oven. Turn oven to 350 degrees and bake for about 1 hour and 15 minutes or until top is golden brown. If you stick a butter knife into the pudding it should come out moist not "wet" and runny. Shortcut: Use two loaves (1 pound each) of Cinnamon Raisin Bread. You can then omit the raisins and the cinnamon. However, I still add additional cinnamon (but I love the taste!)
